Transportation and Storage Precautions For Graphite Electrode

1. The graphite electrode must be covered with rainproof tent cloth during transportation.

2. Use a forklift to transport the stacking electrode. Only one layer is allowed at a time, and balance center should be watched to prevent it from falling.

3. When using a crane for loading and unloading, it is necessary to use a separate wire rope, and do not directly hook the steel packing tape of the electrode.

4. The graphite electrode should be stored in a clean, dry place. It must be covered with a rainproof cloth when putting it in open air. The stacking height should not exceed 4 layers.

5. The graphite electrode should be placed next to electric furnace for drying before use. The temperature should not exceed 150℃and the time should not be less than 24 hours.

6. When the graphite electrode is used, special tools are used to cut the steel tape and it must not be broken by a hoist.

The challenge is these Rebars are difficult to be counted manually at the plant, due to their high volume in numbers. The rate of production of Rebars is also high and thus there is a requirement to develop a method that will automatically count the Rebars quickly.
